I've been thinking about things these last couple of days

If had to do it all over again, I don't know if I would have been such a big fundraiser for Republicans. In fact, I might have raised some money for the Democrats. Am I better off now than I was under Clinton? I'd have to say the answer is no.

Yesterday in your honor I bought some peppered turkey deli slices...to sort of get the feel of this situation. Ouch!

I glued BB's on my face in honor of your injury. Now people look at me funny and I can't go near anything magnetic.

Cheney said today that the day he shot you was one of the worst days of his life. That day was probably no piece of cake for you either. Dick has said that he prayed for you after he sprayed BB's all the hell over you.

We are all Harry Whittington -- except of course Dick Cheney who is Lord of the Shotguns.

Mr. Whittington, I've been a registered Democrat for all my voting years, and I'm 84. I am very sorry this happened to you and hope you will come through it with no adverse problems.

You and Mr. Cheney may be friends but I certainly would consider ending that friendship. A friendship such as this has proven to be dangerous to your health.

Where I grew up in Alabama we used to just stab our friends in the back.

I guess shooting is a little more impersonal and you're not a likely to get blood on your nice suit.
